Projects
SUNARMA is currently running two successful projects.
Our first, the “Wof-Washa Forest and Land Use Management Project”, aims to improve the lives of the people living in and around the Wof-Washa natural Forest, a beautiful indigenous forest three hours drive north-east of Addis Ababa. As the forest is itself pivotal to the lives of the communities in that area, we want to promote its efficient management so that the people there can benefit from it in a sustainable way.
Our second, “Women’s Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resources Management Project”, is also situated close to Addis, two hours drive north. Our approach in this area is to achieve “Conservation Through the Market”, providing sustainable alternative sources of income that will help to make the most of the communities’ resources. As the actual project title is a bit of a mouthful, we at SUNARMA usually refer to it as the “Conservation Through the Market” Project.
